Who I Am

A modern house sits atop a grassy hill with mountain ranges in the background, some peaks are snow-capped and cloudy sky overhead.

Hello, I’m Emily Schueffner, MS, LPC-IT, NCC

I was born and raised in Sheboygan, Wi. Prior to obtaining my Masters in Clinical Mental Health Counseling, I worked as nurse in multiple different settings. After becoming a wife and mother, stepping away from the workforce to raise my children, and concurrently working through my own personal struggles, I felt called to become a counselor.

I returned to UW-Green Bay to obtain my Bachelor’s degree in Psychology in 2020. After, I attended Marquette University obtaining my Master’s in Clinical Mental Health Counseling, graduating in 2024. I furthered my education by receiving extra training through the Gottman Institute, learning how to work with individuals and couples on building healthy relationships. In the Fall of 2024 I opened Valley of Hope Counseling LLC and have been an advocate for healthy living ever since.

If you’re here, I imagine you’re looking for support in addressing issues with yourself, your partner, or your teen. Whether it’s a new event that occurred, or something you’ve dealt with for years, I’m here to help.

As a Christian psychotherapist I conceptualize psychotherapy from a strengths-based, holistic, person-centered approach. This means I work collaboratively with my clients and choose counseling theories/tools that best fit their particular presenting issues. We consider all parts of the self, mind, body, and spirit, and see how we can achieve optimum well-being. As my client, you do the heavy lifting….And I’m over here being your spotter!

Most importantly, I want you to know that I’m here to serve you; meet you where you’re at, give you hope and encouragement, and empower you to make difficult changes through your journey in life. Thank you for letting me be a part of it.
