Who I Am

I’m Emily Schueffner, MS, LPC-IT, NCC, and I’m a licensed therapist in Appleton Wisconsin and founder of Valley of Hope Counseling LLC. I provide counseling for teens 16+, adults, and couples seeking support for emotional, relational, and mental health challenges.

I opened my private practice in Appleton, Wi in Fall 2024 after completing my master’s degree in clinical Mental Health Counseling at Marquette University.

Before becoming a counselor, I worked in nursing across several healthcare settings. That experience gave me a deep appreciation for how physical health, emotional well-being, and life stress are all connected. After taking time away from my career to raise my children, I returned to school to pursue counseling and completed my bachelor’s degree in psychology from the University of Wisconsin-Green Bay in 2020.

As a psychotherapist working in the Fox Valley, I offer a unique balance of warmth and directness, creating a supportive space where you feel truly heard while gently but firmly challenging you to grow. I specialize in working with insightful, motivated individuals who are ready to examine their lives deeply and take actionable steps toward change.

My approach is collaborative and dynamic; while I am deeply compassionate and stand firmly in your corner, I will not shy away from highlighting blind spots or calling out patterns that no longer serve you. Additionally, for clients who wish to draw strength from their faith, I seamlessly integrate spirituality into our clinical work, aligning psychological strategies with faith-based/biblically based principles.
